Organize An After-School Program

pretty brown girl school club

Implement the Pretty Brown Girl K-12 Learning program and curriculum within your schools and organization today!  Our mission is to encourage girls to celebrate the beautiful shades of brown skin all over the world; while inspiring positive self-esteem and confidence. Our approach is to provide an engaging platform for the subtext that most girls of color live within throughout their lives. This subtext often effects their world view, careers, life choices and relationships with others as they mature into adults.  Our goal is to broaden the circle of conversation with girls to encourage healthy interactive dialogue and activities in a celebratory environment.  It is because of commitments like yours that gives us hope that lives will be changed; one girl at a time. We thank you for embarking upon this journey to "empower a girl and empower the world."

The Pretty Brown Girl Curriculum guides girls through a self-discovery journey that inspires confidence, self-love and a passion to pursue their dreams.

Added Value.  Rather than becoming a competitor to the wonderful organizations that focus on empowering girls, Pretty Brown Girl Curriculums foster partnership through which existing institutions can implement a reputable platform and join a conversation that touches so many girls and women in this country.

Recognition. A celebratory spirit is the essence of the Pretty Brown Girl Brand.  Each program seeks to acknowledge what it is like to be a brown girl or woman and address the fact the skin tone is still a point of contention, while celebrating girls in a way that is both constructive and fun.

Dialogue.  The Pretty Brown Girl program honors young ladies in different ages and stages in life by allowing them a safe space to have their voices heard.

Donna Mims, Teacher at Metacomet School in Bloomfield, CT, has partnered with the Pretty Brown Girl Movement for 3 years and delivers a very special message!

"I had the opportunity to sit in on yesterday session with Mrs. Mims. I am so happy with this program. We have already gotten extremely positive feedback for parents. I look forward to expanding in the fall. Donna and I have already had discussions on expanding and how we can make that happen. The response from the parents has been overwhelming with the positive results. This year our goal is to ensure that every girl in our school experiences PBG.

Desi Nesmith, Principal of Metacomet Elementary, Bloomfield, CT

"As the first school to implement The Pretty brown Girl School Initiative, we are beyond impressed with the effects with our students. This will be our second year with our middle school girls and next year we will be expanding to both Elementary and Middle. We love Pretty Brown Girl!"

Lena Reddick, Director of Partnership and Community of Higginson-Lewis K-8 School, Boston, MA

I would like to sincerely thank you and commend you for establishing Pretty Brown Girl, Inc and want you to know how much I enjoyed implementing the program at Imagine Leeland. Our PBGs benefitted greatly from participating in the program and it was a complete joy to watch them grow and shine during our program.

Dr. Lynnette Walker, Principal of Imagine Foundations Charter Upper, Marlboro, MD

"We saw a marked difference in our high school students who built a great deal of sisterhood and unity within the Pretty Brown Girl Club." It is necessary to have social-emotional programs to address the real needs of our students.

Tasha Harmon, Bronzeville Scholastic High School, Chicago, IL
